Danscend for Dancers

Training your mind could be more important than training your body.

Dance is one of the most challenging professions in the world. In fact, in 2020, the Occupational Information Network ranked dance the most physically demanding job in the United States. Athletes, steelworkers, construction laborers, and firefighters were also on the list of the top 20 most physically challenging jobs. But dancers were at the top.

Many dancers struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, depression, negative self-talk, and maintaining a positive body image. But, even if you haven't experienced any of these challenges, often, training your mind can help you "get out of your own way" and perform at a higher level.

According to a self-selected survey of 899 dancers conducted by Minding the Gap, 75% of dancers reported experiencing a mental health challenge in the past five years.

Danscend offers virtual courses, workshops, and community support to dancers (and dance teachers) to discuss these issues and offer resources to help you be your best.
